Maundy Thursday: Jesus washes the feet of his disciples

"If I, therefore, the master and teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash one another’s feet." John 13:14

Today is 'Maundy Thursday'. The Church commemorates the washing of the feet of his disciples. Jesus gives an example for not only for his disciples but for ALL of US to follow by saying, "as I have done for you, you should also do". Today we also commemorate "the Lord's supper," or the 'institution of the Eucharist'; "while they were eating, Jesus took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and giving it to his disciples said, "Take and eat; this is my body." Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which will be shed on behalf of many for the forgiveness of sins."
